I have been looking and researching and it looks as if we use the same 99203 CPT code but change the place of service to 02 for telehealth and modifier code to GT (took place virtually)
Anyone have any comments on this???

Hi Guest!
Great question. As you mentioned, some medical insurers will accept the new patient E&M codes 99201-99205 with the GT modifier appended. Some insurers state in their policy for new patient E&M telemedicine visits, you should use:
99499 - Unlisted evaluation and management service Modifier: GT
For established patient telemedicine visits, the CPT codes are as follows:
• 99421: Online digital evaluation and management service, for an established patient, for up to 7 days, cumulative time during the 7 days; 5–10 minutes • 99422: Online digital evaluation and management service, for an established patient, for up to 7 days cumulative time during the 7 days; 11– 20 minutes • 99423: Online digital evaluation and management service, for an established patient, for up to 7 days, cumulative time during the 7 days; 21 or more minutes.
Place of service 02 for telehealth for any of these :)
Hope this helps!

It’s interesting how telemedicine has gone from being a backup option to a real necessity in just a few years. Between long waits at clinics and the need for secure communication, having the right tech makes all the difference. I once worked on a project where we needed a tailored platform for remote consultations, and honestly, the off-the-shelf tools just didn’t cut it. That’s when I came across NEKLO and their telemedicine software development approach. They actually helped us put together something that matched both compliance requirements and user comfort. From my own experience, the flexibility and customization they provide gave us way better results than trying to patch existing apps. It made remote care smoother not just for patients but for doctors too.
