Hello -

One of our doctors wants to do an excision of lesion of tongue using a laser. I'm having trouble finding which CPT code to use. Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi Guest!

Based on what you described, here are some CPT coding options for you:

41110 - Excision of lesion of tongue without closure
41112 - Excision of lesion of tongue with closure; anterior two-thirds
41113 - Excision of lesion of tongue with closure; posterior one-third

Hope this helps!

Hello -

Thank you for your response.

I was able to see the doctor's note and it states "ablation of left tongue lesion with laser". Not sure if this makes a difference in the codes you provided?
